Federal Foam Technologies announced today that it has achieved a Silver Medal from EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. This is the first year the company has earned a medal from EcoVadis. Federal Foam scored in the top 25% globally of over 120,000 companies worldwide.
EcoVadis is the global standard for business sustainability ratings. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. More than 120,000 companies globally have been rated by EcoVadis. EcoVadis’ business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The ratings provide an evidenced-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.

Federal Foam Technologies, an industry leader in custom fabrication of flexible cellular and plastic materials, recently acquired an industrial property located at 511 Wisconsin Drive in New Richmond, WI.
“We are excited for this opportunity to bolster our operations,” said Wyman Smith, President & CEO of Federal Foam Technologies. “As our company continues to grow its customer base, expanding our infrastructure allows us to extend our reach, enhance our offerings, and continue to build a robust team.”
The new property includes one industrial 47,000-square foot building on 4.3 acres of land, adjacent to the company’s existing plant at 600 Wisconsin Drive. Over the next several months, the Federal Foam team will strategically plot out the new building’s footprint and engage in renovations to maximize use of the new space. Additional customer service, shipping and receiving, and planning personnel are already being brought on to support Federal Foam’s burgeoning business.
For over 75 years, Federal Foam Technologies has supplied its customers with millions of components of the highest quality foam, fiber, and plastic material. Serving those in markets such as agriculture, commercial vehicles, construction, furniture, medical, packaging, and more, the business has four divisions located throughout the upper Midwest and ships its products across the globe. As the business continues to grow its national plant footprint, the acquisition of new property will support Federal Foam’s goals to expand operations and further enhance the businesses’ warehousing and storage capacity.

What is community solar?
Community solar, often referred to as a community solar garden is, in basic terms, a solar electric array that generates renewable energy and/or bill credits to multiple subscribers within the community. Subscribers or program participants can include local residents, businesses and non-profit organizations. Participating customers pay to subscribe to the program, and in turn, receive a credit on their monthly electric bill based on the solar energy production of the project.

New Richmond, WI - Federal Foam broke ground recently to mark the start of a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse expansion for shipping, receiving, tool storage, raw materials, assembly activities, training and conference events. This expansion will have a 60ft causeway connected to the original FFT production facility. Anticipated completion date will be January 21, 2019.

Press Release: Federal Foam Technologies, Inc. purchases Modern Quilters.
New Richmond, WI - Federal Foam Technologies, Inc. will be acquiring the assets of the Modern Quilters operations located at 62038 MN Highway 24, Litchfield, MN 55355.
Modern Quilters was started in 1950 in Minneapolis, MN to service and support the Outerwear Industry, which was a major part of the Textile Industry in the United States, at that time.
From 1950-1990, Modern Quilters grew their outerwear business, during which time, expanding the quilting product line to include furniture pads, materials for oven mitts, pot holders, horse blankets, and other unique and specialty products.
In 1990, Modern Quilters moved to Litchfield, MN into a facility that better served their growing business needs. In 1996, the company installed their first flame laminator, as a response to requests from footwear customers to offer an alternative to quilted boot linings. By 2002, the laminating business was expanding into a variety of markets that included after-market automotive, agricultural industry, recreational vehicles and other miscellaneous industrial applications. In 2008, Modern Quilters installed a second flame laminator to handle increased sales and guarantee a continuous supply of product to their established and growing customer base. Since then, Modern Quilters continued to expand its production of quilting goods, along with expanding their laminating competences.
Relocating Modern Quilter’s capabilities into our Cokato, MN factory, within the structure of our core business capabilities, will give FFT a stronger presence in corresponding markets, and further strengthen our mission as a world class supplier of custom flexible fabricated articles and supplies.

We are pleased to announce that Federal Foam Technologies, Inc. has recently acquired the business assets of Advanced Components Technologies, Inc. (ACT), a Worthington Industries Company, based in Northwood, Iowa.
ACT has been a leader for five decades in the ON/OFF-ROAD Highway marketplace supplying fabricated interior cab trim componentry, acoustical insulation products, molded plastics parts, heat shielding materials and other miscellaneous custom flexible fabricated items.
The joining of these ACT assets will give FFT a stronger presence in corresponding markets, and will further strengthen our mission and core competencies as a world class supplier of custom flexible fabricated articles and materials.
