Federal Foam Technologies, an industry leader in custom fabrication of flexible cellular and plastic materials, is currently looking for a Senior Demand Planner to join their team in New Richmond, WI. This position is the lead resource in the facility for the Master Production Schedule and Plan and ERP data analytics. The Senior Demand Planner will analyze customer forecast data for both the short and long term to produce a Master Production Schedule and Plan that is coordinated with Production to deliver on-time to customer demand. This person will work with production, materials and engineering to address any short- or long-term capacity constraints within the plant and works with these same groups and others to implement continuous improvement to drive performance excellence. This roll will be critical in a central role for data mining and analytics from the ERP system. The Senior Demand Planner will be a key leader and influencer within the plant to drive continuous improvement through the collective work of cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
¨ Drive the demand management process using experience, subject matter expertise and industry best practices.
¨ Leads a monthly demand review process to reach a consensus demand forecast by customer and part numbers. This will include interfacing with Sales, Customer Service, Operations and potentially engineering for new products.
¨ Develop statistical forecasts and maintain a log of outlier corrections.
¨ Achieve in-depth “super-user” fluency with our chosen ERP System (currently Epicor 10) and subsequent system upgrades and software revisions for the Quote to Cash cycle. Act as a resource, system expert and trainer to assist staff in becoming more fluent in use of Epicor.
¨ Own the processes for Demand Planning and Inventory Optimization, leading efforts to continuously improve them. This can be as extensive as evaluating new approaches to these processes such as Demand Driven MRP.
¨ Ensure that the Master Production Schedule & Plan enables the production operation to meet its customer service and inventory goals in alignment with plant and company objectives.
¨ Own demand-related metrics and assist with driving forecast accuracy.
¨ Uses and develops relevant reports and alerts to identify areas that may have issues and to improve the process.
¨ Works with Customer Service, Sales and Customers to effectively manage customer forecasts and incoming orders to assure data integrity following EDI or manual loading into the ERP system. Identify meaningful increases or decreases in demand, leading efforts to adjust production plans in accordance.
¨ Lead the implementation of improved scheduling and planning methods and subsequent delivery across the end-to-end supply chain in support of our fulfillment of delivery and inventory goals.
¨ Supports the development of Master Production Plan for introduction of new products, meeting OTD objectives for samples for production verification, PPAP runs, customer verification samples and initial production orders.
¨ Leads and provides direction to the Master Scheduler and Production Supervision team on managing short- or longer-term capacity constraints for given process(es). Conducts a weekly review of capacity constraints by individual process and works with the team to address how adjustments will be made to schedule and production capacity to address customer needs and work through the constraint as smoothly as possible.
¨ Provide a high level of data extraction and analytic capability to support the materials organization in evaluation of data integrity as well as providing data for critical decision making within the Materials Organization and the Plant.
¨ Serve as a liaison between Federal Foam, our suppliers and our customers as well as being a key individual during the development of new programs and projects.
¨ Works with the IT Team to resolve issues and continuously improve usage and efficiency of the Epicor ERP system.
Qualified Candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management or Business with a minimum of eight years of related experience working directly in a Materials Management Group within an organization with five or more of those years directly engaged in planning for production and master production planning. APICS CPIM and/or APICS CSCP certifications are preferred. Training in Production Scheduling, Finite/Infinite Scheduling, Kanban, Procurement, Inventory Control and Supply Chain Management Practices preferred.
