The Plant Manager is responsible for the oversight of all daily operations of the plant to maximize profitability, stewardship, safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and teamwork. This role requires strong leadership with an analytical mind and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain appropriate levels of communication and accountability to foster a cohesive team that is aligned with the Business Plan goals of the Plant and FFT overall.
Foster trusting relationships throughout all levels of the organization and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
Direct reporting responsibility for Customer Service, Planning, Operations Manager (Production and Shipping/Receiving), Quality, Maintenance. Work closely with Engineering, Purchasing and Human Resources to ensure that the goals, objectives, and daily activities of these areas are in alignment with those of the NW Plant and the company.
Develop systems, communication, and relationships with FFT sister plants and corporate resources to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
Develop and maintain a Quality System such that the plant is compliant to ISO9001 certification standards and the plant meets or exceeds the quality expectations of its customers.
Develop and implement training plans to appropriately on-board new employees and develop the skills and advancement of existing employees. Also, implement cross training plans such that appropriate levels of skill depth for back-up roles are established and maintained throughout the operation.
Develop functional area expertise throughout the plant regarding the knowledge and use of the ERP system to improve organizational efficiencies and effectiveness.
Manage inventory control programs to maintain and enhance judicious asset management.
Lead the organization in continuous improvement activities and methodologies to identify and eliminate waste throughout all areas of the plant.
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
Conduct performance assessments for direct reports and support performance management activities throughout all levels of the plant.
Oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of capital spending plan.
Ensure all legal, regulatory requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met.
Represent the organization in community and business education programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year College or University and a minimum of 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; must be able to create accountability at all levels, lead by example, strong team building skills, decision making at all levels and work with all level of employees/management.
