Engineering Supervisor

Federal Foam Technologies, an industry leader in custom fabrication of flexible cellular and plastic materials, is currently looking for an Engineering Supervisor at its Northwood, IA location.  This position will report to the Engineering Manager at our New Richmond, WI location.

This position directly supervises and participates in the activities performed by the Engineering group at the Northwood location. Job responsibilities include coordinating and participating in the engineering processes to make improvements to existing production methods, manufacturing processes, and tooling in order to reduce scrap, enhance overall part quality, increase throughput, and provide cost reductions. In addition, the position directs and participates in the activities required to ensure prompt and effective transition to production readiness for new and revised parts. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical area and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be familiar with the structure of methods of manufacture (BOM’s and routings), and have experience working within a manufacturing environment.  Must have good working knowledge of computers and experience with MS Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel), ERP software, and Pro/E, CREO, AutoCAD and/or similar CAD design software. Knowledge of and experience with foam fabrication or thermoforming equipment would be a plus but not required.
