1914 Federal Paper Stock Company founded in St. Louis, Missouri as a packer/broker of waste paper and textile clippings for paper making.  
     
1957 Federal Paper Stock entered the polyurethane market as a buying and selling center for both polyether and polyester scrap.  
     
1964 Federal By-Products of Holland was established in Europe to provide the same buying and selling center as in the United States. It also gave Federal the first multinational scrap urethane company.  
     
1973 Federal purchased Agglorex in Lommel, Belgium, a recycler of urethane scrap, from Crown General Industries. Today Agglorex makes products from recycled foam ranging from the Olympic judo mats used in Atlanta to the grow medium used in growing tomatoes in hot houses.  
     
1973 General Foam of Minnesota was started in St. Paul, Minnesota to manufacture prime polyurethane, both ether and ester.  
     
1980 Federtex was established as joint venture between Airtex Industries and Federal Paper Stock. Federtex is located in Best, Holland.  
     
1980 Federal purchased Polytex in Holbaek, Denmark. Polytex is, as Agglorex, a
recycler of urethane scrap.
 
     
1983 Federal International purchased Airtex Industries, Inc., a large fabricator of both polyester and polyether headquartered in New Richmond, WI. Airtex Industries was originally founded in 1946  
     
1984 Eurofed was established in Bavissio, Italy to provide the Italian market with a buying and selling center for urethane scrap.  
     
1991 Federal International purchased Foamtec, a foam manufacturing company located in Minneapolis, MN and merged with Airtex Industries to form Federal Foam Technologies, Inc.
